
Early History
1922
The Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology, FSCT, was formed.
The Bay Cities Paint Superintendents’ Club, BCPSC, was formed.
1923
The BCPSC, later the Golden Gate Society for Coatings and Technology, GGSCT, joined the FSCT.
1924
The Los Angeles Paint and Varnish Club, which would become the LASCT, was formed.
1927
The LASCT joined the FSCT in 1927.
1950’s
The first Western Coatings Symposium was held in Los Angeles. Later, the Golden Gate and LA Societies were joined by the Pacific Northwest Paint and Varnish Club, (future PNWSCT), to form the Western Coatings Society for Coatings Technology, WCS.
1960’s
The Rocky Mountain Society for Coatings Technology, RMSCT, joined the WCS, but due to decreasing membership and participation withdrew from WCS in 2006.
Recent History
2004
The Arizona Society for Coatings Technology, ASCT, was formed to cover the interests of the Arizona paint and coatings industry.
2005
ASCT joined the WCS.
2006
The RMSCT transferred its assets to the ASCT.
The ASCT and WCS were incorporated in the State of Arizona as non-profit organizations.
